As per VGC News, sources familiar with Nintendo's next-gen console plans have indicated that the company is likely to launch the new hardware in the second half of 2024. The reason for this timing is to ensure an ample stock available on the release day and to avoid the kind of shortages experienced with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S launches.

While specific details about the console are being closely guarded, insiders mentioned that the next-gen console is expected to offer a portable mode, similar to the Nintendo Switch, allowing players to enjoy gaming on the go.

Regarding the console's display, two VGC sources suggested that Nintendo may opt for an LCD screen instead of a more premium OLED display. This decision is likely aimed at reducing costs, especially considering the need for increased storage to accommodate higher fidelity games. The current Nintendo Switch only offers 32GB of internal memory, whereas many current-gen PlayStation and Xbox games exceed 100GB in size.
